Lamaism (Tibetan Buddhism), Buddhism, Christianity, Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Shamanism are also playing important role of variety of culture.
Juicy and sweet fruit are what Xinjiang roasted for, especially grapes and melons. People all over the country love them so much as the folk song Xinjiang goes, "The grapes of Turpan, the melons of Hami, the fragrant pears of Korla, and the pomegranates of Yecheng are the best."
There is a Xinjiang travel restriction: Xinjiang is open to oversea visitors including Urumqi, Kashgar, Kanas, Yining, Korla, and Aksu. Some attractions are not allowed to visit, such as Baisha Lake.

It varies by season:
April to June: It's spring in Xinjiang, with blooming flowers. The temperature is about 15-20 degrees. You can visit the Apricot Valley, Tianshan Tianchi Lake, Hemu Scenic Spot, Kanas Scenic Spot, Sayram Lake, and Huocheng Lavender Base.
July to August: It's the peak tourist season. The weather cools down and the fruits are ripe. It's a good time to visit the grasslands such as the Nalati Prairie and Bayinbuluk Prairie.
September to early November: It's the best season for photography tourism. The melons and fruits are still sweet, and the climate is pleasant. The leaves of populus euphratica in the Tarim Basin turn golden.
Mid-November to March: Xinjiang enters winter, which is a good time for skiing. There are over 30 ski resorts in Xinjiang.
By Flight: There are many flights landing at/taking off from Urumqi Diwopu Airport, which can basically connect major cities in China. Travelers visiting northern Xinjiang can start the trip from Urumqi, while those heading to southern Xinjiang can take a flight to Kashgar.
By Train: With the high-speed rail route from Lanzhou to Urumqi, it is very convenient to take the high-speed rail to Urumqi from Lanzhou. Besides, there are many normal trains connecting Urumqi with other cities in Xinjiang.
Renting a car with a professional driver and guide is the top choice as public transportation is inconvenient in many remote scenic areas.
You can use Alipay and WeChat Pay in most regions. Some scenic spots and high-speed toll stations only accept cash, so it's advisable to bring some CNY cash. Credit cards are not recommended as a way of payment in Xinjiang.
